While some sportsmen dream about the Olympia throne, the greatest wish of others is to take part in the famous contest. Being among Olympia contestants, it’s already the cool achievement in a bodybuilding career.
There’s only a sense to apply for the Olympia qualification if a sportsman has a great positive experience and several important victories. It’s recommended to take part in the Olympia competition after going through 25 or more professional contest, presenting the same division. This recommendation proves how difficult a newbie may feel next to Olympia beasts with years of experience.
Moreover, the experience is not the only thing that makes a sportsman equal to Olympia stars. A bodybuilder shall also have an excellent physique, outstanding charisma, positive image, and generous sponsors to cover all the huge spends for the contest. There are also lots of minor requirements that sportsmen have to pay attention to if they plan to become Olympia contestants once.
While the requirements have stayed unchanged for quite a long time, this year the IFBB Pro league decided it’s time to upgrade the rules for qualifying Olympia contestants. The new rules are already introduced. Now the updated information is available on Instagram.
The new rules will be applied for the next year Olympia. The 2019 contest will star without any changes.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received since announcing the 2020 Olympia Qualification System, the IFBB Professional League will continue to support our promoters and strive to improve for our athletes to achieve their dream of stepping on the Olympia stage. So, we decided to make some changes to make the athletes Olympia experience even better! Following President Jim Manion’s motto “You Win, You’re In!”, below is an update on the 2020 Olympia Qualification System: 2020 Olympia Qualification System (“OQS”) Update: The IFBB Professional League, along with Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend, is pleased to announce the 2020 Olympia Qualification System (“OQS”). The 2020 OQS qualifies athletes for the 2020 OLYMPIA and runs from August 5, 2019 to August 3, 2020. The OQS awards points to competitors placing 2nd to 5th. Depending on the division, the top 3 or top 5 competitors with the highest point totals qualify to compete at the OLYMPIA. Ties are broken in favor of the competitor with the better placings (the tier levels are also taken into consideration). Athletes are not moved up if a position becomes vacated. To view the 2020 OQS list of qualified athletes and point standings, please visit the OQS section of www.IFBBPRO.com, www.MROLYMPIA.com or www.NPCNEWSONLINE.com.
