Nevada Athletic Commission May Punish Not Only Khabib Nurmagomedov

The 229 UFC Fight Night ended up with a real mess. The main event of the night that was awaited by millions of MMA fans turned into a massive fight.

The fight between two popular UFC sportsmen Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov ended by the brilliant victory of the Dagestani fighter. After the victory, Khabib couldn’t control himself and reacted on offensive words said by somebody from Conor’s team. The sportsman attacked team members of his opponent, while his fellows got inside the octagon, trying to get McGregor.

The massive fight was stopped fast. And nobody was seriously injured. However, it caused some panic among viewers and many of them left their places.

Later Dana White refused to reward Nurmagomedov with the champion belt. During the post-event conference Dana told he was very angry because of the accident and told that Nevada Commission is seriously worried about the case. He also told that Nurmagomedov may get a serious punishment and his champion title may be taken from him.

The official representatives of the NAC (Nevada Athletic Commission) have reported they are investigating the case. When previously they put the blame on Nurmagomedov only, now they say that they may punish his opponent as well.

The final decision of the Commission is still unknown. They may need some time to decide on the solution for the case, taking into consideration all the details of the accident. However, it’s known that NAC withheld $2 million guaranteed purse of Nurmagomedov.

Anthony Marnell the chairman of Nevada Athletic Commission explained that previously there was no intention to blame or punish Conor McGregor. However, later the representatives found out some details that may be a reason to punish the fighter from Ireland as well.

Marnell also told that commission is going to implement some disciplinary measures to the people who entered the cage. The final decision shall be taken till the end of November 2018.
