2K Games has completely outdone itself with the newest installment of the wrestling series. The new game is bigger – as promised by 2K Games. The WWE 2K17 has a total of 136 playable characters! The roster could even get additional characters if few special characters are made exclusive for WWE 2K17 NXT Edition.
The new installment in the series has shown an increase of playable female characters compared to the previous game. This year’s roster showcases 23 female playable wrestling stars. Once WWE 2K17 is released on October 11th, gamers will be able to play the game as Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Alexa Bliss, Alicia Fox, Charlotte, Nia Jax or Stephanie McMahon. They can also take the roles of Asuka, Alundra Blayze, Dana Brooke, Bayley, Carmella, Emma, Eva Marie, Lita, Naomi, Natalya, Paige, Summer Rae, Sasha Banks, Tamina and Trish Stratus.
Despite the massive addition of female wrestlers in the roster of WWE 2K17, it didn’t get past the observers that certain fighters who were available in the previous WWE installment are missing. This, in fact, creates an active discussion among fans of the game.
IBTimes notes that even Batista – a high profile wrestler – did not make it to the WWE 2K17 lineup. His open criticism of the treatment he received from the company back in 2014 was speculated to be the reason for his digital absence in the game.
