Getting Lean and Cut: A Beginner’s Guide

Many people dream of having muscular, lean bodies, but they don’t always achieve this goal. Many people feel that achieving a toned body is impossible and unrealistic. Some people find it easy to build a muscular body by riding a bicycle. Others may struggle to get a college education.

Some people can achieve this lean physique easily due to their body composition. Others will struggle to gain muscle mass or lose fat. It’s not an easy task to get lean. Instead, it requires extreme discipline and commitment.

Where Are You Now?

Examine your current health habits. Examine the foods you have been eating over the past week and determine if there are any changes you can make to your diet or switch to a healthier option. Normally, when someone changes or eliminates a part of their diet it is usually about them avoiding fast food or eating out at home and replacing it with a healthier option like PB and J sandwiches or turkey breasts. This isn’t a radical change that is difficult to make. It’s something that everyone can do and it can make a big difference in your fat loss journey.

Where Are You Going?

You should set a goal. Do not keep looking in the mirror every day if you want to lose weight. Instead, you should set a realistic goal to lose at least 1-2 pounds by Saturday when you wake up Monday. This is a great goal, and it makes your goals more achievable.

Find a Partner

Next, find a partner. You don’t have to believe you can reach your goals alone. A friend or training partner can make a big difference. A friend can be a great motivator. They can help you stay on track and can also offer expertise in any field that may be of interest to you.

Do Not Skip Meals

Next, I recommend against skipping meals. People who are trying to lose weight believe that skipping meals will make them eat less. It is one of the most dangerous things you can do. When someone skips lunch and eats breakfast, they often feel hungry and end up eating more than they would if they had eaten.

Each person should not skip meals. Instead, eat three strong meals per day with small snacks that are healthy, such as nuts or fruit. This will keep you satisfied throughout the day, and it will make it easier to resist temptations to abandon your diet or goals.

Add Weight Training

Include weight training in your exercise program, not just cardio. Cardio is important as it will help you lose fat. However, muscle building will increase your metabolism and speed up your progress. The best way to get that slimmer look is to build muscle. It is important to also train the lower body. Your lower body will be strengthened by compound movements like squats or leg presses.

Continue with Cardio

Do your cardio. Cardio can help you lose weight and strengthen your heart. High-intensity interval training will burn the most calories in the shortest time. This is something that you may find in functional fitness training and other lifts. This can be done by running sprints on a treadmill, or on a track.

For about a second, you can do a sprint with 100% effort. Then follow that up with 1-2 minutes of easy jogging. This will keep your heart rate up and help you get lean. This may seem difficult to some, but you won’t know until you try. So go ahead and make these adjustments and you will start seeing results quickly.
