What are MCTs?

What is the difference between MCTs & LCTs?
DiMarino says that MCTs and LCTs can be digested differently. MCTs are small and are therefore transported directly to our liver via our circulatory system. They are then converted to usable energy in the liver.

Because LCTs are so large, it is necessary to add an extra step for their digestion.

“LCTs are combined into molecules called chylomicrons, and some are absorbed into fat tissue while others are transported to the liver.
