Martyn Ford, a fitness influencer, sat down and shared his thoughts about steroids in the industry. Ford recently discussed the importance of steroid education, and whether Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) uses steroids to maintain his body.
Martyn Ford, a 6’8″‘ giant, is well-known in the fitness industry for both his shred build and astonishing muscularity. A few months back, he was to face Sajad Garib (The Iranian Hulk), in a highly publicized boxing match.
Although the anticipated showdown was set for the O2 Arena, a few issues prevented it from happening. Ford shoved The Iranian Hulk down after a fight. Gharibi, who was crying in the interview after the fight, explained that the embarrassing encounter had caused his family to disown him.
Ford was ultimately the first to announce that the fight was on. Ford cited safety and health concerns as the primary reason, but also expressed concern about Gharibi’s suicide if he loses the boxing match. Ford has been looking for a new opponent since then.
All indications pointed to Hafthor Jornsson being Ford’s next opponent. Ford said that he had been offered to fight the 2018 World’s Strongest Man. The bout was cancelled after Ford stated that Bjornsson had issues with Eddie Hall, following their March boxing match, which Bjornsson won unanimously.
Ford was busy training while waiting for his next opponent. He also made time to interview. After Rob Moore, a huge fitness influencer, shared his thoughts on steroids and whether Dwayne Johnson uses them in a video that he posted to Rob Moore, there was a lot of interest.
Martyn Ford: Steroids in the Fitness Industry: “I don’t need to believe it’s a bad thing”
Ford recently spoke out about the controversial topic of steroids in the fitness sector.
Ford said that the situation with steroids is very difficult for him to enter because it’s similar to Ford asking him if he’s ever used cocaine or smoked marijuana.
Ford claims that steroids can be used to good effect or could be very dangerous if they are misused.
“I don’t believe it’s necessarily a bad thing. For me, my problem with questions around performance-enhancing drugs… it’s a very awkward subject because, do I believe they can be used for good? Yes. 100%. Science supports this. Are they dangerous? Yes, 100%.
Ford claims that children and young people are more impressionable than adults because of the popularity of social media. Ford argues that children listen selectively to what they want, rather than understanding the research required for anabolic compounds.
From someone who is a personal trainer on social media, the problem with openly discussing drugs, particularly steroids, is that young, impressionable children will not listen to an answer and take what they want. They won’t conduct the research, the blood test or the training for the first five years.
Ford explained that steroids are a part the black market. These compounds are often made at home or in people’s homes and not in controlled scientific laboratories.
> “I fully understand the benefits of steroids. I understand that most steroids on the market today are illegally purchased. Most steroids available on the market today are fakes or were made in someone else’s home, making them very dangerous. The majority of legal steroids available in countries can be extremely dangerous as most people don’t know how they should be taken.
There is a serious problem with steroids and a large problem in the fitness industry. It’s something that should be investigated. It’s going to get worse because of how social media works. People can’t naturally achieve the body they desire.
Ford said that only 2 to 3 percent of humans are genetically gifted, and that everyone else just ‘chases this look.
“I don’t care what people think. Only two to three percent are genetically gifted, and the rest will continue to chase that look. You can’t look like a fitness influencer if you don’t use drugs. I can count 100 athletes, and 99 percent of them can tell me how many are on drugs.
Ford thinks Dwayne Johnson uses steroids?
Martyn Ford shared his thoughts about whether The Rock uses steroids in the interview. Moore asked him if he knows if The Rock uses steroids. He said he didn’t, but he told Moore that if he is natural, The Rock would be ‘fuc**ng gifted’.
> > “I don’t know. The question doesn’t have to be answered. He is one of Hollywood’s most well-known actors. He is a great actor. He’s a great man. He’s a great guy. He trains hard and has worked tirelessly to build his body. He’s naturally gifted if he does it. However, I would not say anything about him if he did it or didn’t do it.”
Ford stated that even in sports such as bodybuilding, where steroids are rampant, it is difficult to talk about the subject, especially for those in the fitness industry who have a large following.
“When you’re in an environment that promotes bodybuilding, this is a double-loaded question and it’s not something we want to discuss. From my perspective, I prefer a professional to talk about it. A doctor who can give sound advice to children who are still very young at an age where it is easier for adults to make them honest via social media. They feel inadequate by making them look normal.
In the news, The Rock and his alleged use steroids have been discussed before. Jay Cutler, a four-time Mr. Olympia, spoke out about Johnson’s natural state and Mike O’Hearn’s bodybuilding. Cutler said he understood their situation and appreciated the fact they didn’t talk about it openly.
