Breaking his own lofty strength records is a usual leisure for the Strongest Man of the World. Hafthor Bjornsson appeared as the special guest at the 153rd Scottish Highland Gathering & Games on Pleasanton, California last weekend attempting to break his own Weight Over Bar World Record.
Bjornsson threw a 56lbs weight over q 20’1’’bar easily. This bested his previous world record height which was 20’ earlier this year at the Arnold Classic.
The Mountain showed a video on his Instagram and wrote that this was a new world record in weight over bar with 56lbs, the highest that anyone has ever thrown.

In fact, Hafthor breaks his own record for the 4th time now over the past few years! Before, Bjornsson overhead pressed 440lbs. In March, he put a dominated performance and won the 2018 Arnold Strongman Classic Ohio, and just one month later, The Mountain won the 2018 Europe’s Strongest Man. Already in May 2018, he won the world’s strongest man title.
He seems to be unstoppable and this year seems to be the year of The Mountain!
