Last year, the developer of the game, Bethesda informed players that Skyrim was going to run on Xbox One.

However, that was only going to be part of the technical exercise. During the same time, Howard said that the fans of Elder Scrolls series and Skyrim needed not get too excited yet. The door may have been left open by Howard, however, at E3 2016, Skyrim Remaster, which is officially dubbed the Skyrim Special Edition was finally confirmed by Bethesda.
Among the big changes that are expected to be seen in the upcoming release is Skyrim Remaster for Xbox One, Windows PC, and PlayStation 4. However, the game will not be released for Wii U, Xbox 360, or PS3 yet.
The release date of Skyrim Special Edition will not be arriving this summer, but instead, it will come sometimes just ahead of the holiday this year. It has been confirmed that the released date will be on October 28th for the said platforms.

The Skyrim Special Edition is going to come with some fresh coating of paint for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. This edition will come with some great remastered art as well as effects including dynamic depth of field, volumetric god rays, and new snow shaders.
