Lucasfilm has kept mum about the exact release date of Star Wars: Episode 8, however, it is known that it is set for release in 2017. While waiting for the release date to arrive, fans have busied themselves with extracting information and spoilers for Star Wars: Episode 8. Star Wars: Episode 8 is under the direction of Rian Johnson and will be in theaters on December 15, 2017.
One of which is the revelation of the identity of Rey’s parents. Rey herself is a mystery altogether, and her parentage is no different. In the previous Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there was no specific mention of her family, but there was a reference to the family that abandoned her. That being said, it is possible that she is related to some other character in the story. The fans of the Star Wars franchise are expecting the big reveal on her heritage in Star Wars: Episode 8. There was a theory that Rey was the daughter of Jyn Erso, however, this was shot down by Daisy Ridley herself during an interview. After denying that her character is the daughter of Jyn Erso, she was then asked if her character was related to Obi-Wan Kenobi and she answered with a “We will see in a year. Just sit tight on that question.”
Another fan favorite character is Yoda, who apparently died in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. There have been rumors that Yoda will be returning in Star Wars: Episode 8. This rumor began when someone who attended the Star Wars Celebration in Europe shared that there was a stall called Saving Yoda and that he overheard that the person who creates the Yoda Puppet have been called back to work on the Yoda Puppet 8 for Star Wars: Episode 8. That being said, some think that this is enough evidence that Yoda will be taking part in Star Wars: Episode 8, even though he died in ‘Return of the Jedi’ and that he was even seen chilling with other dead characters in the afterlife in ‘The Force Awakens’
