The closer the Olympia contest is, the more pressure the contestants feel. Being the current champion, Shawn Rhoden, surely, gets too much attention of his fans, colleagues, and haters.
Recently, Shawn was present at Pittsburgh Pro Guest Posing. Everyone was expecting to see how fit and strong Rhoden currently was. However, Shawn looked worse than most people expected.
Many sports fans were surprised seeing Rhoden overweight: he looked too different from the way he usually looks at the bodybuilding stage. The situation became a reason for new rumors and offensive jokes.
Shawn was simply attacked with questions and criticism on the internet. He received a lot of hateful messages and comments. However, there also were those who decided to support the current champion. One of such people was Guy Cisternino who shared a video, asking people not to judge sportsmen during the offseason.
Unfortunately, this didn’t stop haters and they continued bullying Rhoden on social sites. Shawn kept silence for quite a long time, however, he thinks it’s time to comment on the situation now.
Rhoden explains that it’s ok to stay unfit during the offseason. There’s nothing wrong in putting some extra weight and enjoy an extra portion of your favorite food when you are not competing. Shawn also says that none of the competing bodybuilders looks perfectly shredded and lean during the offseason.
At the same time, the sportsman assures his fans that he will look great right before the contest. Shawn has no intention to lose weight before September. He believes that his body deserves some rest. Rhoden supported his message with some of his photos, showing how different he looks at different times of his life.
Fans and colleagues of the sportsman reacted to the post with warm words and strong support.
