The Schedule For 2019 Arnold Strongman Classic


Finally, we have the schedule along with all the events’ details about the 2019 Arnold Strongman Classic. The Arnold Sports Festival is held in Columbus, Ohio every year. This year, the event will serve as the finals for the Arnold Strongman Pro World Series, as well as last year.

Hafthor Bjornsson dominated the competition in a commanding fashion last year. Bjornsson held the Rogue Elephant Bar World Record and won $72.000 USD for his first place in the competition.

2019 Arnold Strongman Classic Roster

Ten athletes were set to compete in this year’s Arnold Strongman Classic. All they were qualified for the event thanks to winning one of the previous Arnold Classic multi-sport festival contests or completing one of the Arnold Pro Strongman World Series’ spots with the highest points.

For now, only seven following athletes have officially qualified:

  1. Hafthor Bjornsson (Iceland) – 2018 Arnold Strongman Classic USA Champion
  2. Rauno Heinla (Estonia) – 2018 Arnold Classic Australia Champion
  3. Oleksii Novikov (Ukraine) – 2018 Arnold Amateur World Champion
  4. Mikhail Shivlyakov (Russia) – 2018 Arnold Classic South America Champion
  5. Jean-Francois Caron (Canada)  – 2018 Arnold Classic Africa Champion
  6. Brian Shaw (USA) – 2018 Forts Warwick Champion
  7.  Martins Licis (USA) – 2018 Arnold Classic Europe Champion

Three spots are still remaining and one will be given to the winner of the 2019 Arnold Pro Strongman USA which will be held in Santa Monica, California, on the 19th of January. The other two spots are to be given to the two athletes with the most points collected from the Arnold Pro Strongman World Series.

Friday, the 1st of March

Event 1:  Rogue Elephant Bar 3:00 — 4:45 p.m., Arnold Fitness Expo Stage

Initial weight starts at 751lbs.

Event 2: The Husafel Stone Carry 4:15 — 5:15 p.m., Arnold Fitness Expo Stage

Athletes carry 410lb stone for maximal distance.

Saturday, the 2nd of March

Event 3: Conan’s Wheel of Pain 1 — 2 p.m., Hall B

Event 3: The Austrian Oak 3 — 4 p.m., Arnold Fitness Expo Stage

Pressing the massive oak implement with 430lbs weight for maximal reps.

Event 5: Stone Shoulder appr. 9 p.m., Batelle Grand

Lifting the 410lb stone to the shoulder for maximal reps.
