Rex Tillerson running a known oil trading company is nominated to be secretary of state by the US elected President Donald Trump. Rex Tillerson is a 64-year-old a Texas inborn who worked as a head of Exxon Mobil has worked for the company in the US, Yemen, and Russia. The secretary nominee, Mr. Tillerson, has spent 40 years of his career employed in Exxon and is expected to retire next year. He, a fresh graduate from the University of Texas, Austin was appointed as a production engineer and worked as an engineer till 2006.

“Mr. Tillerson would be a forceful and clear-eyed advocate for America’s vital national interests,” said Mr. Trump’s transitional team. It added that ” Mr. Tillerson will help reverse years of misguided foreign policies and actions that have weakened the country’s global standing”.

Mr. Tillerson expressed that he and Mr. Trump has same vision “for restoring the credibility of the United States’ foreign relations and advancing our country’s national security”.
Russia Allegiance

Mr. Tillerson while working for Exxon in Russia has counterfeit forged multibillion-dollar deals with Rosneft, Russia’s state oil company. Mr. Igor Sechin, Mr. Putin’s former deputy prime minister and considered as Russia’s second most powerful man, is executive chairman of Rosneft. He is a close friend of Mr. Tillerson.

Mr. Tillerson opposed the annexation of Crimea for the international sanctions placed on Russia during that. Mr. Tillerson is open to the idea of a carbon tax but is devoted to using fossil fuels.

Mr. Tillerson said in May that “The world is going to have to continue using fossil fuels, whether they like it or not”

Mr. Tillerson donated a large quantity of money multiple times to the Republican Party. He also supported and funded Jeb Bush in the party presidential elections as the party’s presidential nominee, reported by Washington Post.

Mr. Tillerson was a high achiever scout in his youth and remained president of the Boy Scouts of America from 2010 to 2012. During his presidency, he lifted the ban on gay adult scout leaders.

Mr. Tillerson remained director of United Negro College Fund, a US organization that supports historically black colleges and universities and funds scholarships for black students.
