Nintendo has made a statement regarding the shortage of the new Pokemon GO Plus, a neat wearable accessory to make playing the location-based Pokemon game more fun. Players of Pokemon GO have voiced out their concerns regarding the short stock for the Pokemon GO Plus which triggered a response from Tatsumi Kimisha, the president of Nintendo. As per Gamerant, it is reported that Kimisha and the company were not prepared for the demands for the Pokemon GO Plus accessory during the earnings briefing in Nintendo. “Demand far exceeded our expectations and production has not caught up, leading to product shortages. We apologize to the consumers and distributors affected by this. We are planning to expand production as needed and will continue to produce and ship additional units. However, there wasn’t any indication as to when this can be expected”.
Apparently, this is not the first time the company has handled an issue with a stock shortage. It seems that the company’s amiibo figures also faced that same problem in the past and Nintendo apologized with the promise of expanding production to meet the demands of the fans. The same promise has been made for the Pokemon GO Plus. It is a little bit of a mystery that Nintendo did not foresee that the Pokemon GO Plus would be in high demand given that the game itself Pokemon GO is a huge success, especially for those hardcore Pokemon trainers who would go for accessories to be a level higher than the rest.
