In an effort to revitalize their game’s fanbase, Niantic has released an in-game Halloween event. The said event will start on October 26 until November 1. Niantic’s suspected goal is to make most of the old players of Pokemon GO to play the game again. The said Halloween event will give players the chance to get special rewards. The event will also allow players to encounter the most spookiest Pokemon more frequently including Gengar, Gastly, Haunter, Drowzee and Zubat.

One of the best goodies that Pokemon GO’s  Halloween Event will be gracing players with is that during the said event, the candies that will be gathered from catching Pokemon is doubled.  The candies that trainers will get by transferring Pokemon to the professor is also doubled. This event is definitely a good time to grind for candies to power up your favorite Pokemon. Moreover, the double candy bonus will also apply to Buddy Pokemon.

As per TechCrunch, Niantic’s idea to have a Halloween event for Pokemon GO is a wonderful idea. It is also a great way to re-invite old players who may just find it exciting to finally evolve those Pokemon they left behind when they part ways with the game.

As for the patch notes for the October 23 update, it is known that the Pokemon obtained from hatching eggs will now have a different pattern and it all depends on the length required to hatch Pokemon. There is also a new icon for the Pokemon type that can be seen in the game’s information screen. Moreover, there is also a new low battery indicator and minor bug fixes implemented as well.
