Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 preview for the PCs with mobile broadband improvements. This update comes from the build RS5 branch and the company is planning to launch it later this year. the next update that involves RS4 branch will be coming soon but the exact date is not announced by the company till now.
Windows 10 is said to be a new service that was built in a unique way from the predecessors. It can regularly update its database with not just fixes but also with new features. Microsoft company have already four major updates till now which includes November Update, Anniversary Update, Creators Update and Fall Creators Update.
The RS5 build is especially for them who all have chosen the Skip Ahead option which means they will be a getting update from the RS_PRERELEASE branch. Microsoft aims to network stack by introducing a reliable network driver model. The build includes an Improved Mobile Broadband (MBB) USB class, driver. If the PC supports the mobile broadband then you need to try the new driver as the default.
If you want to try this setting then you should first go to “Device Manager => Network Adapters => Generic Mobile Broadband Adapter or xxxxx Mobile Broadband Adapter => Right-click => Update driver => Browse my computer for driver software => Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer => Generic Mobile Broadband Cx Net Adapter => Next.”
After you have restarted, you need to try the cellular network by turning the Wi-Fi off and disconnect the Ethernet cables. If this becomes reliable then Microsoft will be setting this as the default driver in later builds. Microsoft has also released the Microsoft Edge DevTools Preview app. The Web app which is available in the Microsoft Store lets you preview the latest DevTools which are running by side with the tools which include in Edge.
The desktop builds also has fixed some general bug and have done improvements like in the brightness toggle from the Battery flyout in the Notification Area has been removed from the Taskbar. It has fixed an issue in Microsoft Edge in which dragging from one folder to another didn’t work.
