The last major feature revealed to users was a new and improved story mode designed to maximize user experience in the game.
Seeing that Kobe Bryant is donning the cover of NBA 2K17’s Legends Edition, we can only assume that the legendary basketball player, the ‘Black Mamba’ as he’s often called, and his career in the NBA will be the main focus of the game.
The ratings of the players are another one of the revealed features. Some of the players with the released ratings are Minnesota Timberwolves’s Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers and Joel Embiid, the center for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Apropos of the players, gamers awaiting the new NBA 2K17 were eager to know how they could place their faces in the game. The past couple of years have seen drastic improvements in face-scanning technology, and the creators of 2K17 followed suit. The face-scanning feature will be integrated into mobile apps connected with the player’s accounts. The MyNBA2K17 app’s release is supposedly set for September 8.
The developers of the game claim the app will be drastically different from the previous versions, and the technology behind the camera will not be the same as the one on PS Camera or the Xbox Kinect. In the mobile app, face-scanning is said to be faster and easier, although they recommend using the higher resolution cameras on mobile phones and tablets. When released, the app will be available for both iOS and Android devices for free.
