John Kavanagh on 229 UFC Fight Night: “I Didn’t Think It Was a Big Deal!”

John Kavanagh is a famous Irish coach and successful MMA fighter that was present during the great mess after the fight of McGregor and Nurmagomedov. He was standing right near to Dillon Danis the training partner of McGregor who was attacked by Khabib and watched the argument of both teams.

When Dana White the UFC president spoke on what happened after the main fight, he was very emotional and angry. He told he was very upset, watching how the greatest UFC fight was ruined by the awful behavior of the sportsmen. According to Dana’s words, the viewers were seriously scared and disappointed by what they saw.

However, John Kavanagh looks more relaxed about the case. He told that such a stormy reaction of the UFC president became a surprise for him. Kavanagh told that there was no real fighting that can serve as a reason to be scared for viewers, but “pushing and pulling” what is “not a big deal for UFC fights”.

Kavanagh told he understood the reaction of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Both McGregor and members of his team could expected such actions from the opponent. It didn’t become a surprise for anyone.

At the same time, Kavanagh said there was no provocation from the side of the Irish fighter. John didn’t hear anything from Dillion Danis, while he was standing right near to him. “He said nothing at all”, – Kavanagh said.

The coach also mentioned that Khabib Nurmagomedov didn’t deserve any hard punishment. He believes that such fights have always been a part of MMA and will always take place in the sport.
