Apple has yet to announce even the existence of an updated version of the iPad Mini, however, rumors are staying strong and are pointing to the possibility that the iPad Mini 5 will be released in 2017. Multiple Apple keynote events have come along but still now word for the iPad Mini series, even when the iPhone 7 was released in September, there was still no sign of a possible upgrade for Apple’s tablet line
As for rumors, there have been a few that say that the iPad Mini 5 will be launched this month, based on the fact that previous iPad models were released in October or November. MacWorld UK has noted that there aren’t any reports or leaks that prove as solid proof that the much-awaited tablet will be launched this year. Now, the best speculation that has been cooked up by fans is that the iPad Mini 5 will be released in March 2017 instead. There is even another rumor that the iPad Mini 5 will be launched alongside the iPad Pro 2.
The specifications and features that the iPad Mini 5 will be sporting have been reported to include 3D Touch technology, a pre-loaded iOS 10 or an even later operating system. Since the iOS 11 is expected to come out by 2017, if the dates match, the iPad Mini 5 could be shipped with this operating system instead. The chipset processor that will be under the hood of the iPad Mini 5 is most likely to be the A9 chip, though there are a few hopefuls that think it might just come with the A10 chip instead. As for the tablet’s size, there are rumors that suggest that the iPad Mini 5 will have three variants, a 9.7, 10.1 and 12.9-inch models.
