Apple has released its latest update iOS 11.3.1 and in which the company has claimed that it has fixed the issue that the users of iPhone 8 are facing. The users of iPhone 8 who used third-party repair services for their displays had seen that the device gets unresponsive after updating to iOS 11.3.1.

A release note by the company state “iOS 11.3.1 improves the security of your iPhone or iPad and addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 8 devices because they were serviced with non-genuine replacement displays.” During the year 2017, an iOS update has also killed the touchscreen functions of the iPhone 7 and same happens in 2018 when the users of iPhone 8 models update with iOS 11.3.

The customers and retailers suspect that the Apple was deliberately allowing the issue and other malfunctions to come forward due to the replacement of the components by third-party. The company is trying to make pressure on customers to go for genuine components in their official outlets where the price of the components is very high.  According to RepairMapr founder Kev Notton, wrote to Motherboard, “That terrifies me because they’re the manufacturer. Ultimately, they hold all the cards. It’s very easy to go down the rabbit hole of thinking that Apple is trying to make it JUST inconvenient enough to even consider third-party repair a reliable option.”

It may be possible that the Apple may have forced some users to go for the Apple official service center in order to change the components of the phone, which may have made the user angry for which the company now bought an update to resolve it. iOS 11 update has got some serious bug when it got released and Apple is trying hard to fix the same for which iOS 12 which is scheduled for this year may have fewer features than iOS 11.

Apple in a statement said that they have fixed the issue with the iOS update 11.3.1 but also warned people about using the third party repair shops for iPhone.
