The Orcish Blademaster Samuro has already been in the works for a while now and is now available to play for free this week. Samuro is based on the original character who made his debut in Warcraft 3. Samuro will basically retain all the abilities he had in the source material. With the Blademaser’s debut in Heroes of the Storm, it certainly drives the point that Blizzard is dedicated to keep adding characters to the game, thus making it more exciting and fresh. This new character is a melee assassin character and will have abilities such as Wind Walk, Mirror Image, Critical Strike passive ability, and his ultimate, Bladestorm. There is also another ultimate as an option called Illusion Master, in this ultimate, Samuro will create a couple of mirror images that can be controlled or used as a teleport point which is much similar to Spectre’s ultimate in Dota 2. Samuro is a mix between Spectre and Phantom Lancer, though with the description of his skills, at first look you may see him being more like Juggernaut as well, minus the healing ward and Blade Dance abilities.
Samuro is definitely a force to be reckoned with as his itinerary of skills has the ability to nuke your life bar if he gains an advantage early on in the game. As for his Abilities, Wind Walk increases his movement seen while Crushing Blow gives him an extra charge to Critical Strike, which basically means two consecutive critical hits. Although powerful he is weak against Lunara, Kael’thas, and Malfurion.
This week, Samuro will be free to play for everyone, when the free to play timeframe ends, players will need to purchase this hero via cash or in-game currency. It’s either that or wait for him to appear again in the free hero rotation. What do you think of Samuro? Is the adaptation done well by Blizzard? Let us know in the comment section below!
