After what seemed to be a long game of cat and mouse between fans and Bethesda, the promised Fallout 4 mods are finally going to be released, however, it is too good to be true, because sadly, it won’t last long. Bethesda has finally confirmed their plan to unleash PS4 mods, but it will have a lot of limitations. The purpose of a mod is to allow players to adjust the world inside a game to fit certain preferences, that being said, external assets are a must in order to tweak the game as you want. However, the mods that will be released for the PS4 will only let players do so much. Players will either need to modify or create their own content via the utilization of the ‘Creation Kit’ however it would not be possible to upload external assets. The only usable of which are the ones that are already inside the game.
With that being said, it means that the PlayStation players of Fallout 4 will only be able to utilize assets such as objects, sound, textures etc. Well, all that is already in the game and the same goes for the Skyrim dragon universe. Bottom line, mods are now possible, but custom made mods are not.
On the brighter side of things, Fallout 4 players still have the option to create their own modded locations and scenarios, but of course, it will lack the wow factor of having armors that are seemingly from Pacific Rim or Thomas The Death Engine.
If all that is not enough to slightly kill some hype fans must have had, Bethesda has yet to announce an official release date for these new ‘mods’.
