The busy schedule of Dwayne Johnson could mean that he is out of the country when his second daughter with his girlfriend Lauren Hashian arrives. But fortunately, Jimmy Kimmel is ready to step in.
The 45-year-old actor, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! , on Tuesday revealed that despite the baby’s 25th April due date, he is traveling to Shanghai on Friday followed by a stop in London to do some promotional work for his new monster movie Rampage.
Kimmel said, “You can’t go to Shanghai!” and Johnson replied saying, “We’re taking a chance here. We’re taking a shot.” Johnson said to Kimmel that he needed a very good friend of his; he needed a doula that would help him to deliver and that would be Kimmel himself. The father of four replied that he would love to be the doula and would be more than happy to fill in for him.
Though Kimmel offered to do the entire thing including dressing up as the former pro wrestler for the birth, he drew a line at cutting the umbilical cord, revealing that he did not even perform the task for his own children. He explained that it is patronizing and that, to him, it is like being the mayor and cutting a ribbon. He further said that he does not want to screw up his kid’s belly button.
Earlier, Dwayne Johnson tricked Kimmel, 50, into thinking that the baby arrived actually on Sunday, sharing a frantic story about how his girlfriend believed that she was going into labor. The celebrity described grabbing the prepared bags, having a nanny come over for their daughter Jasmine Lia, 2, and getting their dogs take care of in a rush.
The couple announced in the month of December that they are expecting their second child together that is another girl. The star even has a 16-year-old daughter from a previous relationship named Simone Alexandra. During his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Johnson said that though Jasmine was happy about getting a baby sister, recently her attitude has shifted a bit.
