The UFC President Dana White was very emotional, giving his latest interview at the 229 UFC post-event conference. He got angry after an uncontrolled argument between teams of Nurmagomedov and McGregor, thinking it was about to ruin the event.
Previously, Dana White told that Khabib Nurmagomedov will be punished and may lose his champion title. Right after the legendary fight, Dana White refused to pass the champion belt to Nurmagomedov, criticizing his aggressive and dangerous actions.
However, giving an interview to TMZ a few days after the event, Dana White looked much cooler and more relaxed. The UFC President said that the organization won’t punish the sportsman. The case is passed to Nevada State Athletic Commission and it’s absolutely their business to decide on punishment for Khabib and other participants of the argument. It means that Nurmagomedov has all chances to keep his champion title and to receive his champion belt later when the case is decided.
Dana told that Nevada Commission withheld $2 million from Nurmagomedov. However, the UFC president believes the sum is too much to be adequate and more likely the Commission will take around $250 thousand from the sportsman’s purse.
Dana White told that the views of the fight brought lots of money to UFC, what made his mood better. However, he didn’t change his mind and still thinks that actions of Khabib Nurmagomedov were unworthy. He expected another behavior from a UFC champion.
At the same time, Dana told he understood why Khabib behaved that way, however, he also thinks that the sportsman’s actions shouldn’t go that far.
