BOXROX and Morning Chalk Up reported the details about the latest updates from the CrossFit HQ office on Friday morning. The point of the report was that much of the in-house media team for CrossFit HQ was dissolved in the form of 12-15 more layoffs.
“The entire CrossFit Media team have been fired, including top members Marston Sawyers and Heber Canon”, – revealed BOXROX leaving the source anonymous. – “Rest of the department got fired today. Some have until November 21st and others till December 1st and others were let go today. This is so crazy…Even the Games documentaries guys got fired. The main 2 were fired today.”
The latest report adds more employees to the list of the 40-50 CrossFit HQ employees who were fired in August this year.
According to the Morning Chalk Up, the Update Studio would be no more, so the final episode in which Sean Woodland, Tommy Marques, and Rory McKernan signed on together, was the last one.
Check the YouTube video below, in which, by the way, there is no specific confirmation of that detail on the footage.
According to the report of the Morning Chalk Up, around 20 members of the media team are still on staff at CrossFit HQ.
However, there are no additional details on what is going to happen with the upcoming 2019 CrossFit Games season for now. So there are more questions than answers for many fans. According to Jeff Cain, CrossFit CEO, “Today’s layoffs redirect resources and attention to CrossFit’s essential business activities — training and affiliation — in order to make further headway as the world’s leading health and fitness company.”
For now, all we can do is to wait and guess how this will impact the 2019 CrossFit Games season.
