“This is a devastating tragedy and difficult to comprehend. Chris is beloved by all his ESPN colleagues and for good reason: He has a huge heart and has given so much to so many over the years,” the president John Skipper of ESPN said in a statement. “We know how much his family means to him and all we can do at a moment like this is give him the love and support he will surely need at this hour. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris Berman, Meredith, Doug and the entire family.”

Chris Berman started his career at ESPN in 1979 and retired as a compare of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” in January after 31 seasons. He is still under the agreement with the Bristol, Conn., based system.

In 1993 an extensive interview with the Courant, Chris Berman reminded how he pretended a car trouble just so he would have the opportunity to ask the previous Kathy Alexinski, a fourth-grade tutor at the period, for help and then a breakfast date. Later, ten years next that date, the tale connected that the Berman family “have a very, very, very fine house in Cheshire,” in a sign to Chris Berman’s love of rock music. “They swim with the kids in the pool and play street hockey in the driveway. They crank the tunes.”

The reason of the accident is still under investigation. Kathy Berman was flaunting a shoulder and lap belt, the report said. Whereas, Mr. Bertulis was not. Airbags installed in both vehicles. Berman passed away at the same moment. Bertulis was taken to Waterbury Hospital, where he also expired.

Many are devastated and consoled Mr. Chris Berman.
