Nintendo was and might as well forever be the king of 8-bit gaming, back in the day, many of us would engage in this console’s variety of games and it is definitely a part of our childhoods. It was released for the first time in 1985 and now, after 31 years, they are unveiling the Nintendo NES Classic Edition.
The original and the new console have a lot in common and some differences as well, and the most notable difference is the size of the console. The Nintendo NES Classic Edition is a miniature version of the NES which can fit in one’s palm. The new Nintendo NES Classic Edition will still cater to 8-bit gaming classics and still comes with one NES Classic Controller. However the new Nintendo NES Classic Edition comes with an HDMI cable and an AC adapter, there are also 30 pre-installed games that will definitely take you down memory lane once you pop in that console and turn your gaming mode on. Classic titles include Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Dr. Mario, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Punch-Out!!, Balloon Fight, Excitebike, Ice Climber, Tecmo Bowl, and more!
All the games in the Nintendo NES Classic Edition have three modes to choose from, one is the classic mode that will have a 4:3 aspect ratio and maintains the original look of the game, and let the players see how it was meant to be played. The Pixel Perfect mode will let the players enjoy the original design of the game, each pixel is sharply seen as a perfect square. Lastly, there is the CRT Filter mode that will create a look and feel similar to that of an old TV set. Definitely a walk down memory lane!
The Nintendo NES Classic Edition will be released on November 10 in Australia and Japan, while players from North America and Europe will get it the following day. The Nintendo NES Classic Edition sports a price tag of $59.99 while the Nintendo NES Classic Controller comes $9.99 each.
