Following the first ever teaser for A Series of Unfortunate Events, Netflix announced the release date for the TV show as well. The teaser featured Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, and not every fans seem to be on board with this casting decision. Some do not agree with the characterization of Lemony Snicket by Warburton.
The teaser that was recently released featured Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket as he introduces A Series of Unfortunate Events Netflix adaptation. Lemony Snicket should sound remorseful and satirical as he was described in the book, plus a British accent. Warburton is assuring fans that the American-speaking voice will not throw off some fans. However, another thing that fans aren’t exactly happy about is the part where the teaser hints that Lemony Snicket will be showing his face on the show.
Some fans shared their thoughts on various social networks, some such as: “The tone of the books is very dark and serious, with lots of dry humor. It’s a very British book series,” a comment read in the “A Series of Unfortunate Events” Facebook page. “The trailer was much too light and silly for the series, much too American, and the worst part is that we’re never supposed to see what Lemony looks like!”
With all that in the works, it is best to see what the series will be like before jumping on any wagon. So mark your calendars for Jan 13, 2017, because as per Netflix, A Series of Unfortunate Events is set to air its first episode!
