2015 Dorian Awards: Winners Toast Predictions

A battle in the Film fare industry is urging swiftly as the nominations for different award ceremonies came forward. The Golden Globe Awards along with Oscar nominations coming out is raising a curiosity in the crowd.  Now, the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association publicized the nominees for its Dorian Awards that will glorify accomplishments in film and television.


This group is established by making a committee of around 100 LGBT and associated journalists countrywide, admires schemes both with and without LGBT involved. It has chosen some of the similar films and acts coming up on other awards lists. It is also included in some specified classes such as LGBTQ Film of the Year and Campy Flick of the Year.

Not only this, it will also include lifetime achievement award and the Timeless Star Award that will be given to actor like George Takei. The winners in reasonable classes will be publicized January 20 and distinguished at the critics group’s yearly Winners Toast March 1 which is going to be in Los Angeles. The Dorian Awards is basically named in honor of Oscar Wilde’s novel which goes by the name The Picture of Dorian Gray.

The candidates for Film of the Year are as

Birdman, Boyhood, the Grand Budapest Hotel, the Imitation Game, and Pride

For credits in directing, the nominees are

Wes Anderson for The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ava DuVernay for Selma, David Fincher for Gone Girl, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for Birdman, and Richard Linklater for Boyhood.

Selected for “Film Performance of the Year” are

Steve Carell forFoxcatcher, Benedict Cumberbatch for The Imitation Game,  Jake Gyllenhaal for Night crawler, Michael Keaton for Birdman, and Eddie Redmayne for The Theory of Everything.

The nominated actresses that will compete this year are

Essie Davis for The Babadook, Anne Dorval for Mommy, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl, and Reese Witherspoon for Wild.

The next nomination in the list will be for LGBTQ Film of the Year and the nominations are

The Imitation Game, Love Is Strange, Pride, Stranger by the Lake, and The Way He Looks. Love Is Strange andPride are also chosen for Unsung Film of the Year with Obvious Child, The Skeleton Twins and Snow piercer.

Coming to the television side, nominations for TV Drama of the Year are
